I’ve been writing articles and posts for many years now and there have been a select few that really resonated with my readers. Today, I want to share my top posts with you over the past few years, so that you’re still able to enjoy them even though they may have gotten lost in the archives!

1. You Can’t Go Shopping for a Body

How many times have you looked through a fitness model’s Facebook or Instagram account, liked what you saw and purchased their coaching or nutrition/workout plans? I was always tempted to buy the plan that the girl with my dream body was selling. Why? Because I wanted her body! I wanted to look just like her, so of course, I figured if I bought her plan, I would. Unfortunately, you can’t ‘shop for a body’. In this post, I discuss the reasons why.

2. Nutrition Isn’t Simple

Don’t hate me after you read this…

Eating/nutrition is not simple. You look in the latest magazines for healthy eating tips, you mark ‘health’ as a topic of interst on stumpleupon to get the latest flat belly tricks, you follow fitness pages for a ‘2 week detox diet to lose 10 pounds’… you get what I mean here.

While there are many videos, blogs, aritcles, tips and tricks online these days, they are forgetting to tell you just one thing: “Nutrition isn’t as simple as I am making it seem in this (video, tip, trick)” In this post, I talk about all the reasons why nutrition isn’t as simple as the industry makes it out to be.

3. That Fitness Girl is Lying to You

I told you how I used to follow one person and tried to learn everything about their habits: what they were eating, what workouts they were doing, what they were wearing etc…

Then, I would find another girl and do the same… then again… and again…

I ended up with hundreds of ways to do cardio, hundreds of ideas about which diets to follow and hundreds of opinions on ‘good vs bad’ foods. Okay, total exaggeration there, but you get my point, right?

The obessesion with following fitness FB pages, IG accounts, Tumblrs etc… drove me insane and I know it’s driving you insane too.

It’s great to use these pages for inspiration, tips and advice, but what they say or do has to be taken with a grain of salt in most cases. In this post, I tell you why!

4. The Truth About Fitspiration

You should be careful who you follow and worship on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr etc… There are a lot of people who may look great, but who are not doing things in a healthy way. Regardless of their status in the fitness world, if it doesn’t sound sustainable and healthy, don’t do it.

5. How You Can Stop Being a Cardio Bunny

When I was younger, I didn’t know how to workout ‘properly’, so I did what most magazines told me to do, which was cardio. I liked the feeling after I ran, but at the end of the day and after years of only running, I realized that I still didn’t have the body shape that I wanted. That’s when I finally decided to take the plunge and start weight lifting. And now, I am the happiest I have ever been not only with my body, but also, in my relationship with exercise. Gone are the days when I dread working out because I knew I was going to have to run and run and run. BORING.

Now, I want to help YOU. You are a cardio bunny and it’s time to retire. In this post, I tell you how you can do just that.

6. 6 No Fail Ways to Stay Motivated

Do you ever just feel like utter crap? I sure do sometimes.

And sometimes this feeling lasts for weeks!

So, how can you cope with it? How can you stay motivated? How can you keep hitting the gym when all you want to do is cuddle in bed all day?

Well, I sure don’t have all the answers, but I do have some tips that may help you during these unfortunate times…

The hardest part about setting a goal is getting started. I think we can all agree on that whether that goal be work related, fitness related, family related etc… When I gave myself the goal of getting into weight lifting and shaping up my body, it sure wasn’t easy for me. I still remember the first time I set foot into the gym, bypassed the treadmill and headed to the weights section… I still get chills thinking about how scared I was.

So, just like you, I didn’t go from complete newbie to ‘experienced’ in an instant. I had to swallow up my fear and just get started. Whether you are embarking on a new fitness goal now, or whether you need some more motivation to keep going, I have 5 tips for you…

8. How to Eat Out at Restaurants

Going out to eat at a restaurant-one of the most stressful things to think about for most people on a diet/nutrition plan.

But seriously, it doesn’t have to be that way and it shouldn’t. Sacrificing your happiness with friends, family and general life experiences will bite you in the butt when you’re older and sitting alone without great memories to talk about. I definitely encourage you to find a balance when it comes to your nutrition regime, so that you can indulge in those foods without throwing off your entire mindset or body. In this post however, I want to tell you what I do when I eat out at restaurants and have chosen to stick to my usual eating habits.

9. The Worst Nutrition Advice I’ve Ever Heard

Yep, we’ve all fallen for those dumb tips.

Those silly little tips and tricks that we read in magazines thinking they will magically help us achieve our physique goals. We try them and NOTHING. Okay, well maybe we feel good for a little while because we think they are working, but at the end of the day we are still just back where we started.

Well I thought I would share some of the worst nutrition advice that I personally fell for back in the day.
