This past weekend was such a blast! Dane and I headed up to the Tahoe mountains and ate, drank and did so many new things. I’m excited to recap our weekend today, but first, a little PSA for you guys.
I know I haven’t been blogging as much these days. I love you guys, I love my readers and I love blogging, but a little thing called life just gets in the way sometimes. Work has been incredibly busy and I’ve been traveling a ton and doing a lot of the weekends (which is usually when I write my blog posts), so I’m still here and I’m still blogging, but I can only do so much! It’s more important to me to focus on my clients, so naturally, blogging is the first to suffer, hah.
Anyways, let’s get started on my Labor Day weekend! Dane and I drove to South Lake Tahoe and spent two nights at the Tahoe Beach and Ski Club. It was a great spot as it had its own private beach and a little kitchenette in our room so we could make breakfasts both morning and dinner one night. I didn’t take too many pictures as I was just living in the moment (unplugging is the best!), but here are some highlights:
Beautiful sunrise in the morning after a quick tabata workout!
Our dinner spot the first night at Lewmarnels which included scallops to share, a halibut steak with veggies, cheese fondue and bread and salads to start!
Amazing blackened halibut steak with sautéed veggies!
Lots of whiskey and beer (for Dane) was involved this weekend! My go-to lately is Maker’s Mark or Bulleit on the rocks with a dash of Splenda or stevia!
We went parasailing! It was SO much fun, but we were pretty terrified up there. You have try it once!
We also spent some time at the casinos and were up $40, which is a huge win for me. I’m not a huge gambler, so if I’m up even $10, I call it a day and feel great about it. There are so many fun bars, shops and restaurants in South lake Tahoe that we can’t wait to go back and see more.
Like I said, there are so many un-pictured meals and drinks from this weekend. For our lunches, we usually had lettuce wrapped chicken burgers with grilled onions, mushrooms and avocado. I chose a side salad or veggie side to go along with it! We bought breakfast at the grocery store to make in our room and eat on our patio and protein bars bars for snacks! For drinks, I stuck to whiskey on the rocks with some sweetener and a glass of wine (or two!) I didn’t go overboard on anything, but I indulged in the things I wanted like candy and cocktails. Like I’ve said before, you can eat out and stay healthy. It’s all about creating a balance for you and your lifestyle.
Now you tell me…
What did you do this past weekend?
What’s your favorite fish to eat?
Have you ever been parasailing? Or skydiving?
