Ask me anything:

Ask your questions here!

Q: How did you break free from the cycle of diets and fitness fads?

It takes time. Believe it or not, that vicious cycle helped me get to where I am today. It took years of frustration and confusion to finally realize that there is no one wayI finally stopped trying to do everything Fitness girl 1,2,3,4,5 + did, I sought out articles and blogs of those in the industry who had real credentials. I read up on their philosophies, some of which I took away with me and others I didn’t. I started to get a handle on what was pure BS in the industry and what was not and over time I felt confident enough to try out these practices in my own life.

Takeaways:

  • This vicious cycle can be stopped
  • It may take more time for you to realize that this is a vicious cycle and that it does suck
  • Find people you trust in the industry
  • Read their stuff (this takes time and yes, lots of effort, but if you’re reading this, you know it’s worth it)
  • Be patient- changing your lifestyle is setting you up for life. Think you can do that in a week? Didn’t think so.

Q: What are some protein sources you recommend?

A: Protein is an essential macronutrientSome great protein sources are Greek yogurt + nut butter, cottage cheese + nut butter, protein powder and nuts or fruit, toast with peanut butter, jerky, egg whites, whole eggs, fish, chicken and all meat, beans (not as high in protein, but still good!), protein bars… here is a great site with protein packed recipes!
